Madison Buchanan, MD is a psychiatrist and therapist who specializes in helping adults find freedom from problematic patterns. Vanderbilt and UCSF-trained, she has expertise in General Adult Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and in the care of young adults. 

Madison attended residency at Vanderbilt University, where she spearheaded the Nashville Narcan Project and worked in the Vanderbilt Student Health Center. Her studies of substance use disorders extended to UCSF, where she completed a subspecialty fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry. 

An evidence-based approach to diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions are the foundation for her clinical care. Additionally, Madison’s desire to capture notions of mental health and development beyond mental illness led her to study psychoanalysis and therapy in depth. Known for her warmth and keen listening capacity, she pairs up-to-date medical data with empathic therapeutic interventions and compassionate curiosity.
